DRY HIRE

Hunting Ground Studios ALLOWS THE USAGE OF OUR STUDIO ROOMS AND EQUIPMENT WITHOUT A HOUSE ENGINEER PRESENT. DUE TO THE USAGE OF THE STUDIO AND VALUABLE GEAR PRESENT DRY HIRE HAS LIMITED AVAILABILITY AND IS SUBJECT TO OUR DISCRETION.

AS RECORDING ENGINEER AND PRODUCERS, WE EACH HAVE PARTICULAR WAYS WE LIKE TO WORK AND SETUP OUR REGULAR WORKING COMPUTER. OUR STUDIOS ARE THEREFORE SETUP WITHOUT A STANDARD COMPUTER TO ENCOURAGE ALL ENGINEERS TO BRING THEIR OWN COMPUTER.

YOU CAN BE UP AND RUNNING IN A FEW MINUTES WITH YOUR FAMILIAR SETUP AND ALL YOUR OWN PLUGINS. WE’LL HELP YOU INSTALL THE CORRECT DRIVERS FOR OUR CONVERTERS AND YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO. ONCE YOUR COMPUTER IS SETUP YOU CAN EASILY MAKE USE OF THE 30 INCH SCREEN AND KEYBOARD AND MOUSE THAT IS IN THE CONTROL ROOM. IF YOU HOWEVER PREFER TO USE ONE OF OUR COMPUTERS THAT IS FINE TOO. JUST LET US KNOW YOUR PREFERENCE.

IF YOU ARE NEW TO HUNTING GROUND STUDIOS IT IS MANDATORY TO HIRE AN ASSISTANT THE FIRST BOOKING TO GET AN UNDERSTANDING OF HOW THE STUDIO OPERATES AND ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE ABOUT SOME OF OUR UNIQUE PIECES OF EQUIPMENT.

What is the cost of Dry hire of the studios?

We have multiple Control /Mix rooms linked to live rooms.

Room costs depends on the room/s required for the day. We would need some detail on requirements to recommend the rooms required / most suitable for the recording session. In general our minimum booking is for 4 hours unless on a case by case scenario.

AVAILABLE SESSION TIMES ARE AS FOLLOWs:

➢ 9AM-6PM 


➢ 9AM-1.30PM 
(HALF DAY)

➢ 1.30PM-6PM 
 
(HALF DAY)

➢ 6PM-Late (Night Session)

➢ ADD THE NIGHT SESSION 6PM ONWARDS To your day session

NIGHT SESSION REDUCED FROM IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A DAY BOOKING

➢ SETUP ASSISTANCE FROM ONE OF OUR ENGINEERS IS REQUIRED ON FIRST USAGE OF STUDIO AT A COST OF $250 + GST. THEY WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE DURING THE DAY FOR CONTACT IF TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY ARRIVES.

➢ BOTH MIX AND LIVE ROOM TO BE MAINTAINED TO ENTRY LEVEL ON EXIT OF STUDIO.

Payment Terms

For tracking sessions we require 100% of the total payment upon booking as this guarantees studio and engineer availability for your chosen day.

Rescheduling an already booked session is allowable. This is only available to within 48 hours of Session. No refunds - however you can re-schedule for a later date

We can’t accept cancellations and will retain the fee of your session
in the event you don’t attend your booked session.

In the event of a studio breakdown that prevents tracking or mixing, the amount of lost time will be rescheduled as an additional session, subject to studio availability and the engineer’s discretion. 


The client and client’s personnel (engineers, producers, managers,etc) are liable for all their damages and personal safety. We recommend you have your own public liability insurance.

We don’t provide refunds.

Common room and kitchen available for engineers and artists. Normal etiquette rules apply. Use what you wish – but clean up afterwards.

Recording with Hunting Ground Studios

I am an Artist - How much does it cost to record ?

Each project is unique and therefore requires a unique approach.

We operate a shared creative space. The cost of recording is usually broken into two parts. The cost of studio hire, and the cost of the engineer. Each engineer may charge their own rate and then the room/studio hire will be based on the studio space that is required. For an example. Let’s say an estimate of 4 days is given to record a single then the amount payable would be 4 days of studio time and 4 days of Engineer /producer rate.

Mixing and mastering of the song is required and is an extra cost based on the individual mixing/mastering engineer rates
